What a thrill it was to have an excerpt from one of the poems from my second collection, Idiolect, selected for inclusion in the 2023/2024 Poetry in Transit program. The poem is entitled “At the Bakery After the Pathology Report Arrives”.

Since 1996, the work of ten British Columbia poets have been chosen annually for this recognition. Poetry in Transit is an initiative pursued by the Association of Book Publishers of BC in partnership with TransLink and BC Transit. Poems written by the ten chosen poets are printed on poetry cards that are then displayed on buses operating throughout the province over the course of the year. As the Poetry in Transit announcement states, the project creates “an opportunity to share these wonderful poems with the larger community.”
