Review of Kevin Spenst’s New Poetry Title

It is always an event when a new title by Vancouver poet Kevin Spenst is published. A Bouquet Brought Back from Space was released by Anvil Press in March of 2024 and I was happy to review it for rob mclennan’s fine  literary periodical, Periodicities: A Journal of Poetry and Poetics. This new volume of Spenst’s poetry builds on the solid reputation he has established through the publication of three earlier collections and no fewer than 16 chapbooks.

As I stated in my review:

… [readers] will recognise some familiar themes in Bouquet. They will also discern a broadening and deepening in the sophistication of Spenst’s unique poetic voice.
